Tiffin & Co
When I told my family I was setting up the Wild for the Wolds venture and that it was all about supporting local businesses in East Yorkshire, they immediately said, you must write about Tiffin & Co. in Bridlington Old Town, and then they went on to tell me how amazing Karyn is and how delicious her chocolates are, well with that kind of local praise, how could I resist?
Karyn Hoggard is a trained pastry chef and chocolatiere with 20 years experience, Karyn started out with a small home based cooking business that soon became so popular that in 2018 she opened up a shop in the historic Old Town of Bridlington. Incidentally, its right opposite where my Nanna and Grandad used to live, so I know that part of Old Town very well indeed.
It’s a super cute little shop, the type you dream of visiting when you think of handmade chocolates. My brother bought some for me last year on my visit back home and they were utterly delicious. More so, they really helped to cheer me up after losing my Mother that month so tragically. Maybe that’s the power of chocolate, or maybe it’s the real love that goes into Karyn’s chocolates – they are that good, trust me.
Everything is handmade, based on traditional tiffin recipes with a modern twist. Karyn also makes Gluten free, Vegan, Vegetarian and Dairy free treats, so no-one misses out on these delights.
The little cafe also serves Afternoon Tea, light lunches and snacks, or you can pop in for a tea or coffee, but you must have one of these treats to go with it. Tiffin can also do made to order for special occasions like birthdays, Christmas or even Valentines that’s coming up soon.
Karyn gives her customers a very warm welcome, and I think its this mix of great customer service and a real passion for her creations that customers just love.
I will be making an absolute bee line to Tiffin on my visit back home in July, and I’m sure I’ll have no trouble twisting the arms of my family to join me for Tiffin at Tiffin & Co.
Happy Discovering the real taste of the Yorkshire Wolds,
Wild for the Wolds
